Jakarta, Pesantren IMer. The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) installed the Central Association of NU martial arts Pagar Nusa for the period 2012-2017. The new board appointed by the general chairman of the PBNU KH Said Aqil Siroj Al Hamid Islamic boarding school (pesantren), Cilangkap, East Jakarta on Sunday (21/10).

Before installing, Siroj asked the would-be board members, "Are you all ready to be installed? Do have the courage to sacrifice for Pagar Nusa, for NU, including the sacrifice of property?" the warriors replied," Ready ... "

The inaugural event was attended by the chairman of Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) Prabowo Subianto. Pagar Nusa is an autonomous body under the PBNU which is also incorporated in the IPSI.

"I feel proud, because at the time I served, Pagar Nusa was officially incorporated into the IPSI and had voting rights," he said as he encouraged the board to safeguard NU and the nation. "Long life NU, long life Pagar Nusa," he said.

Present also at the occasion were the founders of Pagar Nusa such as KH Suharbillah, the special council members and the warrior council members.

The leader of Pesantren Al-Hamid when giving a speech also led the recitation of Al-Fatihah for the founders and the first chairman of Pagar Nusa KH Masum Jauhari or better known as Gus Masum.

Meanwhile, chairman of Pagar Nusa Aizuddin Abdurrahman or Gus Aiz, while giving a speech after being sworn said that Pagar Nusa was an organized civil force, ready to safeguard NU and the nation. In accordance with its name Pagar Nusa means the fence of NU and the homeland.

"Pagar Nusa is ready to defend the country, especially from any threat of terrorism and religious radicalism," said Gus Aiz.

He added that Pagar Nusa wanted to inherit the spirit of Jihad Resolution initiated by KH Hasyim Asyari who calls on the people to jihad against the allies and triggers the 10 November 1945 event.

"Those who were killed and became martyrs in the 10 November 1945 event were NU followers and pesantren cilrcles due to the jihad resolution. We want to inherit the soul and the spirit of the jihad resolution," he said.

The inauguration and the work meeting are deliberately organized to coincide with the anniversary of Jihad Resolution that took place on October 22.
